The White Lotus

OK guys I'm back, with some refreshing vibe stuff.... Um.... Well let's continue.

This story is set in the early times of Europe...like during the dark ages right before the Renaissance. An elite group of Assassins also lived scattered across Europe and Asia. This group would obviously kill people for money, duh what do you think Assassin's do? The thing about this job is that if you fail, someone will be sent to murder you. Its a kill or be killed world.
The name of this hidden society of killers was known as the White Lotus.

http://images.fineartamerica.com/images/artworkimages/mediumlarge/1/white-lotus-hugo-palomares.jpg

They would get a tatoo of the lotus on the back or arm. Why they did this is because once you became a lotus, you couldn't turn back, and if you failed, the ink would remind you that you were a failure and that you were going yo die soon. Kind of dark right?

Rankings:

The BOSS (only one of your characters can be a boss Assassin. Also known as the Alpha. They are a limited character)

The Assassin (you can have three of these characters, cool because they do a lot of parkour, plus they are mostly what this is about. :P )

Regular People (these are also good characters to play believe it or not. They are because they experience the life of a peasant.... Or royalty, its just I don't want to put king\queen in the upper hand because this mostly about Assassins. You can have 5 of these characters.

The only people you can't have as a main character are victims, duh.

Locations: Early France. There was no Eiffel Tower, but there is the Nortre Dame Cathedral... Even more to climb. France offers a lot of Parkour.

Italy: Italy has a lot of ruins from Rome. The Coliseum

England: Well...no Big Ben... Sorry definitely limiting us, bit we have the palace of Westminster, and a lot of castles so I think you'll be fine.

Spain: OK, I don't know a lot about Spain, but it is a place where bull fighters were common... I think...hopefully. If not, there's a lot of palaces. Mostly Centered in the capitol Madrid, or a coastal city Ibiza.

Japan: Wow, big change in continent right? Anyway there are a lot of possibilities here and an ancient tradition of Samurais, and Tang Shen Dynasty...I think but I could be confused with China.

China: Kung fu! Also, himilayas a good hiding place for failed Assassins. There is a lot of culture in ancient China, so use it.

Rules: Same as Wolf life's rules, keep swearing to a minimum, high as I will go is shit and ass...even though medieval people probably didn't say shit, but whatever. Character rules are up there with the characters, so yeah.

Character Sheet:

Name:
Appearance: (this includes outfit and facial, body appearances)
Sex: (don't be a perv, this means Gender)

Ranking:
Personality:
History: (also includes their location)
Other: (this is where they have sentimental stuff, like a necklace from passed mother, or a dagger from their father who left them... Stuff like that)

My character:

Name: Adele
Appearance: Adele has pitch black hair, and sparkly silver eyes. She wears mostly black, having a white corset, a black shawl and man pants she stole under a black skirt. She has fair skin, and is very flexible. She dawns the white lotus mark in between her shoulder blades.
Sex: obviously a female.

Ranking: Adele is an Assassin
Personality: Adele is very mysterious, and catty. She has a short temper and is often impatient. Adele isn't lady like at all, which often leads to people believing that she's a witch.
History: Adele was born in France. Her father was a low life peasant who sold clothes who were sewed by her mother. Adele would often wander the city dancing for the rich. One day, Adele danced for a very mysterious man. When she finished, he had been very impressed. He offered her a job. She would love in his house and train to fight with her nimble dance moves. Soon she became a skilled Assassin. Soon, her mother grew suspicious of all the money she was bringing in, though her father defended her saying the money was good. People began noticing missing and dead people, and called on Adele, always having suspicions. To protect her family from persecution, Adele ran away and went to live with her master.
Other: Adele's shawl was made of black wool, with small silver threads that she danced for. Adele's mother had made it for her.

Name: Soren (He has no last name)

Appearance: The Frenchman has a sharp appearance, with a oval shaped face and deep inset eyes. He has golden hair, that is often left unattended, and green eyes. It is naturally slightly curly which makes his hair look even more unruly. It is cut just behind his ears for efficiency. He is very muscled, but still looks slim and wiry.
He often wears a fitted black, sleeveless shirt and tight black pants. Both of his ears are pierced with rings, he has a chain and sickle attached to his pants, but often has other weapons on his body. On missions he wears black gloves and a black face mask. His tattoo is on his left shoulder blade, sometimes slightly peeking outside of his shirt.
He rarely dresses in anything else, but will don brown slacks and a black turtleneck if need be.

Sex: Male

Ranking: Assassin

Personality: He is often silent, as he does not like engaging in small talk when he could be doing something beneficial. He is very good at acting, and may change personality in front of a client, or target. He will always help someone, despite how cold he is to others. He is a softy for children and elderly and can be very good with them. He thinks little of his tasks, but he does know vaguely they are bad. So he merely takes jobs that take down the corrupted system of things. Sometimes performing assassinations on his own without prompting.

History: He is French and was an orphan. He discovered early how twisted the world was, as well as his orphanage mistress. He often stole food from the markets when the orphanage didn't have enough, and later stole money for the others. He was eventually caught and turned into prison. Which is where he discovered his next stage. A prisoner was being bailed and noticed something odd about the young boy and took him with him. Training him more about assassination for money and food. It's been about 12 years since, and he is very experienced in his field.

Other: There are rumors swirling around about the deaf assassin who manages to take down his targets. This would be him. Soren is half-deaf from a beating he took while in prison. Which also explains why he dislikes talking, as he can't really understand others. He's learned to read lips.

____________________

Name: Somer Faron

Appearance: He has a chiseled face, which attracts many females to his mother's bakery. His eyes are a dark mahogany, and his hair is a dark brown. It has been grown to his shoulders, and is often tied in a knot or left to hang. His has a bit of a fringe over his left eye. He is a very muscled lad, from lifting flour, but isn't too bulky.
He wears a short sleeve brown tweed shirt, and black slacks, sometimes with a black overcoat. He has very beaten boots, and a silver necklace in the shape of a cross.

Sex: Male

Ranking: Commoner

Personality: He is always brash and blunt with his words, and appears to be an alpha male. He is always confident and with always sneer at the local corrupt government. He sometimes gives old bread to the little thieves running around the streets. He can be easily angered, but will not lash out at anyone within the bakery, or his family's presence. He doesn't want to scare her. He will not judge strangers, or anyone without good evidence, but is a lifelong friend who is very loyal. He is a very kind son and older brother.

History: He lived in a family of four, with his sister, mother and father in France. Who died when he was 12 during a plague. So he took over the heavy duty jobs, often lugging flour around and helping with the baking in their bakery. He has lived in peace for years, but dislikes the corruption in the government.

Other: He is a Hugonaut, a religious group during that time similar to the Christians along with the rest of his family, so he grew up with strict and food values.his sister is currently 5 younger then him at the age of 14.

Awesome! Let us begin. Cool

Adele walked through the streets of France, looking at the shops. She came to a bakery and smiles at the pastries sitting on the shelves. Only the rich could buy them...but her master had made her rich. She looked at the hungry dirty faces of three boys looking up at the goodies. She sniffed and walked inside.
"Can I have one scone please?" She asked a lady. She had come to the opposite end of the city since she didn't have a reputation here. The woman smiled and gave her the scone. Adele pulled out some coins and gave them to the lady. "Thank you." She said sweetly and went outside. She split the scone three ways and gave them to the boys. They ate it hungrily, thanking her. She smiled, although she could be cold and rude, she was kind as well. She couldn't stand to see children starve. She went on her way, licking her fingers.

Men and women yelled out, trying their best to attract customers to their knick knacks and merchandise. The cobblestone streets smelled of rat and sweat, a scent Soren was accustomed to. He plodded through a mob of people, haggling and shaking bags of coins. Ones that soot stained children could easily snatch from their belts.

"Ah! Soren, my best customer!" He'd hardly noticed the voice before a large calloused hand settled on his bare shoulder. "I've recently received a new delivery from the East." The bearded man drew out a thin sword with a flourish. "It's called a Katana. Made to slice through anything." His interest was peaked. France's economy was sliding to the bottom of the barrel, and any thing from the outside seemed exotic. Even if it was being sold from a dirty vendor in the slums of France.

He stared at the man sideways and placed a hand at his chin. "I'll give you a deal. 35 Euros, and it comes with the sheath." The ebony sheath somehow shone on the cloudy day. It was carved with what looked like a flower. "Hmm..." He reached out towards the items and inspected them carefully. "It seems real this time... Balanced really well too." He pondered for a moment and finally shook his head. He ran off before the man could offer yet another deal.

He exhaled when he finally came out to fresh air, away from the cluster of people. He began to pass through a nicer neighborhood and noticed a young lady, dressed in black and white. "Odd..." He thought. Most of the women in France tried their best to appear pale and beautiful. It did appear to work as a strong contrast, but black was always deemed too gloomy for fashion. "In any case..." He thought, disregarding the fact that he too was wearing black. "I better meet with my client soon...Said something about...Partnering with someone?" He shrugged and passed by a group of boys munching on bread. "Probably stole it." He stopped in front of the bakery glancing from them and the building.

"Somer? Will you go help your sister with the flour?" The large man glanced outside to see his sister attempting to lug a large sack through the doorway. He quickly ran outside to pull the bag out of her grasp. "Give me that..." He muttered in exasperation. "B-But!" He rolled his eyes at his sister's attempt to help him. "But nothing, kid. Go help mom with the kneading." He instantly felt guilty watching her face fall. He closed his eyes and groaned. "Look, Dana...I'll, I'll take you out to the market later, okay?" She instantly brightened, and spontaneously hugged him around the waist. "Thank you brother!" She ran inside to ask their mother excitedly. He sighed with a wry smile on his face.

And so the day began.

_________

Eventually the streets began to fill with people, and business continued as normal. A lady came in only to buy a scone. "Their all starving themselves to look pretty, huh?" The thought brought him to stare at his sister who looked up in confusion. "Make sure she doesn't do that." He mumbled. "Somer...?" He shook his head with a smile. "It's nothing."

Eventually no one came in and the man took it as a lull in the day. He whipped his hand free of flour and went outside to get a breath of fresh air. He nearly bumped into a black clothed gentlemen staring at the building. His eyes instantly narrowed. "Do you need something sir...?"

Adele made her way through the now crowded streets. Women began to sneer at her appearance. She found cover near a group of Gypsies. They were dressed in either black or other very dark colors. She slid down a narrow passage, getting away from the foreigners begging for money. She walked down the dirty ally, which smelt of sewer. She made it to a door and tapped it. Almost instantly, it swung open and she was jerked inside. The man smiled at her cold presence.
"Ahh, Adele. I will be seeing another man, but help yourself to some food" he crooned, before leaving the back room. It had a painting of a white lotus in it, a small couch and an arm chair facing the couch. The client was obviously expecting a meeting. Adele sighed and began inhaling a biscuit.

The green eyed assassin looked up with a small sound. "Do you need something, sir?" He glanced at the boys again and shook his head. He'd identified the man as being in a bad mood, so he decided to retreat quickly. He didn't want to make a scene. "I have no needs." He said as he backed away to trot to the rendezvous point. He could feel his gaze pierce his back, but awkwardly grunted to himself about how he should be more careful instead of return the gaze.

His feet eventually took him to a wooden door with metal adornments. No different then the ones surrounding it. He observed the area around it before actually approaching it. His hand raised to knock three times before deeming it appropriate to enter. A face emerged from the door before he could reach for the handle. And a bony hand reached for him, dragging him inside without a word. It guided him down to a cushioned couch in front of a man adorned with jewelry, rather forcefully.

He looked at the man then clasped his hands together to twiddle his thumbs. He noticed the presence of a woman beside him, but merely took mental notes taken from sideway glances.

He could feel the atmosphere almost audibly tense once he had sat down. No doubt from the client. One assassin was scary enough. Clearly, two would be terrifying.

"Good afternoon, assassins of the White Lotus." His fingers stopped moving, but he continued to stare at his hands. "Three men, easy to dispatch..." His inner monologue came on as he noticed the small details around him. A contrast of white and brown on a painting of a lotus flower. A small mount of biscuits on the table. However the scent of rat urine clouded his nose. Unable to tell whether or not they were poisoned.

"How are you both doing? Now I'm sure you have yet to introduce yourselves. Would any of you like to go first?" The slightly arrogant undertone of the man's voice made him quiver. He finally looked at the woman beside him. No surprise registered in his face, but a mere "hmm", once he noticed it was the women he'd seen before.

He extended a hand, not exactly reveling in the fact that he was following the client's wishes. "Soren." He stated without another word, but a glitter in his eye.

After Adele had stuffed her face with the bread, she sat down, to finish chewing, only to find one biscuit tasted odd, and ended up just spitting them all out in a flower vase, then went back to sit down as the client came rushing back in as three knocks boomed on the door. A tall man was dragged in, but she didn't look for to long. She stared at the ground as he sat beside her.
Adele sighed when the client began speaking to them as if they were far off beings. 'assassins of the white lotus' She rolled her eyes and crossed her arms. When the client suggested that they introduce themselves, she looked away at the wall.
'Soren' said the gentleman. Adele looked over at him and grunted, taking his hand and shook it. "Adele." she said softly. Before looking back at the client formore of his suggestions

The young women seemed to be rather brash. Not that it really deterred his work. He had to smother a shudder as she expelled the contents of her mouth into a glazed piece of pottery. "Was that biscuit poisoned?" He thought with a slight part of his lips. He meant to ask if she was alright but, she quickly turned away. An act that dismissed any attempt at communication. Eventually the time came for introductions and his low tone finally caught her attention. Her grip was tight, but failed to show any strain in her body. He smiled inwardly. "She's cute. Like a younger sister."

[i]"Ah! So you're the famous Adele."
The man beckoned his henchmen forward with a bejeweled hand. "Is it alright if we ask for one of your wonderful dances?" Soren flashed the man a curt side glance. "He's pushing his limits..." His breath whistled through his lips. Curious to see how the woman would react, but discontent with the repercussions should she react angrily. "Just intervene at the right time." He thought, recalling his master's teachings.

Adele just grunted again, and sat back into the couch. "I only dance for my master. You are not so special." She said, saying the last sentence inaudibly under her breath so he wouldn't get mad. Actually, if it was just her and the client, she would, but she felt embarrassed that she would give a very brash performance in front of someone she would now work with. It just didn't seem right.
"Just tell us what you want us to do already Monsieur. I feel like we are wasting time." She said to change the subject back to the main purpose of even being here.

The blonde exhaled quietly as she shrugged off the attempt without another word of challenge. "Thank goodness..." His eyes shifted back to the man without a change in expression, and didn't manage to catch her other words. "Just tell us what to do, Mousieur. I feel like we're wasting time." He glanced at her again as she cut through the silence like butter.

The man leaned back with a neutral expression on his face. "Of course..." He lifted a hand towards one of the man and plucked a scroll from him. The crisp sound of it unrolling made him tense a little. "I'm sure you've both heard, but there's a little outbreak of revolutionists around here lately." He glanced up for confirmation from the two of them. Soren made no motion to move and simply stared him back in the eye. "Anyway..." He looked down at his paper obviously unnerved by his unflinching gaze. "Since the state is too busy to handle them, the underground has been moving around a lot more then usual. There's been a lot of things coming in from some other countries. And...They're stealing our business." Soren suddenly recalled the man at the booth. "So this is the group that owns the marketplace. That sword was probably a part of this." He lifted his head again when the man continued. "Anyway, we want you to find out about this foreign group. We think they're from Japan, but we haven't seen anyone vaguely alien lately." The man gritted his teeth in frustration and spoke with bitterness. "So we want you to investigate. Kill anyone who crosses you. I want them out of my territory."

As the client opened the scroll, she took could see a royal seal. So, this man is with the government. She thought bitterly. When he said something about revolutionists, she blinked, obviously he was, or he wouldn't be worried, since they only cared about beheading the Queen. Then again, who would want a bunch of rebels tearing up the streets of the market and of any other place in France. this place was poor already. a war would be the last thing they needed. As he concluded his proposition, Adele stood up, taking the attention of the room.
"Very well. I'm sure these alien objects you speak of are being transported through Cour des miracles." she said flipping her hair. "i'll go check to see if there importing weapons." She said, and then looked expectantly at Soren.
"How about you check the market." She replied, before looking back at the client. "By the way, I like to know who i'm working for before I mercilessly murder someone for money. Might you tell me who you are?" She asked, a glint in her vicious silver eyes.

OOC: Must I do everything? XD Just joking with ya. And happy belated Thanksgiving by the way. It's been a while.

The blonde shifted his gaze to the female, his hair moving over his eyes. He listened to her commentary. Simple and to the point. Like a pouting child looking for their Christmas gifts. He laughed inwardly again and tipped his head as she turned to him. She mentioned the court of miracles. Of course she would. The poor were desperate. And the desperate were dangerous. And then his thoughts were cut off. He was suddenly charged to check the markets, but Soren already knew of his first destination, but he had yet to see what else the she-wolf would come up with.

And then the conversation turned back to the gentleman before them. Bejeweled rather extravagantly. A terrible, but blunt testament of France's economy. A horrid, wasteland with those who had resources, flaunted them without a care. Not a hint of guilt to see people sitting in cold, wet slums. Of course they didn't have any. If they pretended they weren't there, it quite literally mean they didn't exist. But that was far from the point.

He decided to listen carefully to this part of the conversation. The man wrung his hands, a suspicious gleam in his eye. "I'm sure it's obvious, young lady. You're suppose to be observant, yes...?" The henchmen shifted their weight on either foot, perhaps waiting for an attack. But the male assassin remained on the couch, a passive expression on his face. Eyes closed with fluttering eyelashes.

Adele rolled her eyes and looked at the henchmen. "Its amazing how much you think we have tempers. Oh well. I really thought you would answer my question but never mind. You had better hope this doesn't back fire on you." She sneered before flexing her hands, glaring at the henchmen.

Adele knew it would not backfire at all. She hasn't accepted the offer yet, but she was sure the boss wouldn't like to turn down an opportunity like this. Adele sat back down, and narrowed her silver eyes. She glanced at Soren, but then back at the rich man. "So what's the pay to shut down this dangerous operation." She muttered. Adele really felt awkward. All these men all expecting her to blow up and kill everyone. Geez, wasn't she trained as an assassin too? Her thoughts were interrupted by a grunt.

'So happy you're cooperating, the both of you. The pay is 1,200 euros. Split evenly you each get 600. Now how does that sound?' the fat man stated. Adele sat still, mouth shut, wanting Soren to say something. This whole thing was dampening her already sour mood. Well, she was always angry, but now she was just annoyed.
