Jay had ventured to a place where there were fewer and fewer trees around him before he ran into a small rabbit den. He instantly shoved his nose in the hole desperate as he hadn't eaten in a few days, his last meal had been a small mouse having come out. Loosing his own battle in the circle of life as he too desperately searched for this tiny piece of food and like that he had his last meal. Searching now for the rabbit he didn't smell a thing but dirt and the old smell of a rabbit with apparently a lot of offspring, 'Well...' he thought to himself, ' This must be a good sturdy den then if they seemed to have survived.' So he got to digging, trying to rip at the frozen ground that was almost impossible and it took him seven hours to dig that hole He could however smell something when the hard wind ripping into him that carried the scent of lambs and horses. He would at least be able to hunt while he was there, so as long as it took he would dig out his hole until finally being able to somewhat comfortably squeeze into the hole. The dirt surrounding him slowly started to absorb his body heat and it started to get considerably warmer in there as he had insulated his body heat well enough. He smiles proudly having found a way so he could at least enjoy a good nights rest. He slowly starts to feel drowsy, dosing off here and there only to jerk back awake and listen intently at the opening of the den before drifting off again. It wasn't long until it finally overtook the brute.

Jay wakes it had been ten days since he had gotten to this place, having ventured to the farm during those days to find human scent coating the area. Knowing it was unsafe to even attempt to steal food, but now he had no option...he had caught a crow who had been feasting on some guts the farmer had thrown out from his own slaughtering of the lambs but it certainly wasn't enough and soon he would be too thin to take down anything as he was almost just skin and bones as it were. It was night now having planned to take the prey then since the human seemed to sleep at night along with his dogs who were always tied to the porch come dusk when they too ate. He crouched low to the ground, slowly stalking forward towards the farm not wanting anything to give him away at this point. Stealth was a must for what he was about to attempt, his eyes flicking up as a crow cawed over head and flew past the full moon. His heart pounded in his rib cage, adrenaline and fear gripping his every muscle until they almost hurt slowly he inched forward again. Reaching the boarder of the barbed wired fence, being as thin as he was now slipping underneath the bottom most wire served no problems. The herd was all sleep except a few who were further off from him baying about something or other, he licked his chops as he grew closer smelling that wonderful scent of a fresh kill already. He lunged forward and snapped his muzzle down on the creatures neck, twisting to kill it quickly but it was too late. It had already screamed and he could hear the dogs at the farmers porch barking madly at him, the deep rumbling voice of the farmer reaching him next as he yelled at the dogs knowing full well that the human planned to untie them. As quickly as he could, he took hold and tried to drag the heavy beast out but he was so weak now. Reaching the barbed wire just as he heard those dogs start tearing in his direction, luckily for him the wire ripped open the carcass and taking what he could carry in his maw ran like satan himself were on his heels.

Jay stops quickly wolfing down what he had in his maw, it wasn't much but it was so good what little he did get. His ears perked forward as he heard the hounds sniffing at the ground near where he hid, he darted out the howls of his adversaries piercing through the cold night air. He finds a stream which was shallow enough since there had been minimal amounts of melting in the past few days that he could run down the middle of it quite easily. It did the trick the dogs lost his scent and while the farmer screamed at his dogs and ran them over the tracks again to try to find him it was his chance to go back to his kill. Making sure to stay down wind of the farmer and his pack of tracking dogs he returns to the lamb, carefully lifting the barb wire with his teeth and moving it back so that he could take a hold of it and pull until it snagged again. He did this a few more times until the thing was free, pulling it as stealthily as he could because if the other sheep acted up from his presence there those dogs would be all over him again. Dragging his pray in the opposite direction of his make shift den he finds a dark spot a ways from the farm but just close enough that he would hear if anything suspicious was up. His canines flashed in the moonlight as he dove them into the kill, tearing the wool off to spit it out and dive back into the meat. It wasn't long until his face was coated in that sweet tasting blood, the meat so tender and good he hoped that the farmer wouldn't find him tonight so he could have a nice big meal. But just as he suspected when his belly was just about full he could hear the whole lot of them, they had gone back to where he had left the kill and now having found it gone realizing he had come back for it their warning howls that they had found his scent again sent him running straight for the stream in hopes to loose them again.

Jay laid out in the spring air that was gradually warming with each day, recalling the events of that night. He was tied to a large pine tree the human having trapped him during his escapade, he still carried something of a limp from it but he had been allowed to breed one of the female dogs as soon as she had come into heat. The human always on to his friends after he drank some of that vile stuff that made him angry and stink something awful that he would breed the best hunting dog yet...whatever that meant. He had tried to escape a few times but the last time being shot in the rump with bird spread had done him in. There was no strength in him to even try anymore, the still healing front leg and the injury to his hip his days of running were finished...he lapped up the water from the flat steel dish. If ever a wolf sighed he did right then as a shadow of a bird passing over head moved across the field, he raised his head to look up and out as he watched it fade from his view. For an instant he allowed himself to imagine he had made it past all this, found his pack again until a thud came from in front of him and the smell of what was called 'dinner' wafted into his nose. It was the sickest thing you'd ever lay eyes on, certainly not worthy of a wolf's diet but he ate it knowing nothing else would come for him if he didn't. He had learned a lot from living with the human, don't bark, certainly don't bite, eat what's given and NEVER think you'll escape because you'll either get caught or wind up dead.

Angel growled barking and snapping wildly at the humans who had her in a harness. The man who had her, jumped back. "Woah girl." he murmured, even though Angel couldn't understand what they were saying. She kept snapping and snarling, her hackles raised and her crown in a slight down-low, up position.
The man looked at her rolling his eyes. "Keep going!" he demanded, hitting her with a whip. She whimpered a bit but kept growling, for that didn't stop her from getting out of whever she was, though it did convince her to at least turn around and keep walking, though wishing she could rip each of their arms off, impossible for them to catch her. As she moved about, she could see humans faces, trying to make her come over, with their teasing faces. She rolled her eyes and soon she was at her destination. They pushed her in, and tied her up. "Say hello to your friend girl, 'cause soon your gonna have to like him...." he murmured and trailed off.
What exacly did that mean?
Angel whipped her head around to see a male not far away from her. Her orbs focused on him slowly. "Do you have any idea what they're saying?" she asked.

Jay had heard some ruckus but it hadn't really mattered to him to look up. He looked old, having given up on trying there were scars over his muzzle that left bare patches of skin exposed to the elements with scar tissue that when he itched at it even it would hurt. Such severe scars that he wasn't sure anymore if he could brave the elements and take on the forest. So there he lay as he watched them drag some wolf from the forest, white as snow he squinted his eyes curious as to who the wolf may be. Then he noticed where they were headed, he quickly retreated to his small shed like den that the humans had made for him to lay in but was really too small for him. The wolf barked at him a few times and he blinked, he hadn't heard the wolven tongue in a long time but it didn't matter the human would still try to hit her for what she had done and the men did have a lot of practice...plus they were numbers that had just drug her in too. So he remained silent unable to really answer or he would get hit as well and now days he tried avoiding that as much as possible.
