Jay was surprised by her decision to stay although he knew he shouldn't be since the femme had proven to be different then most other wolves time and time again he thought for sure she would've jumped at the chance to leave him for dead. There wasn't much he could do at the moment and was more of a burden then a help and his fears for her safety led him to speak such words to her however not wanting to be left alone again to his own demise as he clearly did act like that of a pup. He had been left by his mother and father at a point in his life before they taught him the meaning of responsibilities although he had some sense of them, he did still act like a pup. Hearing her tell him to sleep he did so without any kind of back talk from himself, Moonlight reminded him a lot of his mother. She used to tell him too that they weren't going to leave him, but there came a day when even she had left him so seeing Moonlight walk off before he closed his eyes gave him a fear that she too was leaving him but just not telling him to spare him the agony. A soft tear left his eye, freezing before it even left his cheek as the air around the den started to grow colder. He sensed another storm coming and hunkered further into the make shift den before falling asleep again.

Moonlight shivered from the cold, she sensed that a storm might be coming. So, she trotted back to the den and started to make her side of the den but made sure not to wake the other wolf. Once she finished making her side, she snuggled in and fell asleep quickly from the warmth. Her fur was thick but she knew the storm was going to be very cold. Falling asleep with nothing on her mind was very unusual for her, but she really wasn't worried about anything.

Jay wakes up that night to find the entrance to the den blocked with snow and it was getting harder to breath in the den, knowing that he must be running out of air in the enclosure he squirms forward hating what he had to do next he shivered in anticipation. He noses the snow making it fall in so that it would start to melt, he continues this until he could completely stick his head out. There having been at least a foot of snow he had dug through with nothing but his snout, he allows his head to poke around for awhile even though the wind was whipping across his face and stung his eyes it felt nice after being so hot in the make shift den. Then his eyes caught what looked like another set of eyes starring back at him, he growls softly worried it was a predator when all of a sudden two rabbits sprung out of the brush and shook their fur free of the clumping snow. They hadn't seen him as he blended in rather nicely with the snow his growl having died down he watches them come closer and closer somehow aware there was a nice little home where he was at their little nose's twitching the air their heads peeked and he knew the jig was up so he lunges forward regardless of any pain and manages to snare both in his maw. It was more luck then skill on his part and he quickly snapped their necks, only to turn and find Moonlight gone her scent lost to the wind he was sure she had abandoned him. Holding no ill will towards her either he started back for the make shift den when he noticed due to his escapade it had collapsed in on itself. He whimpers sitting his hind down in the snow he looks for the exit of the dark and damp cave that had once been his prison, hoping that it could provide him some shelter still holding both hare's in his maw as he looked.

Moonlight woke up from the shifting noise next to her 'Is he okay?' she thought then gets up a shakes off her fur wich had little snow on. She tries to bite her lower back to get an ich that bothered her alot. She yawns and walks to the entrance which was blocked in snow "Great." she growled while scootin back a little. After gathering strength in her legs, she bolted through the entrance covered snow. Once out she sees a wolf in the distance. She quickly got low on the snow to make her fur blend in and her tail hid in the snow so the wolf wouldn't see her right away. She crawls closer to the wolf and sees it looks familiar "Jay?" she gets up from the snow when she got close enough. She shakes off the snow that was stuck on her fur and looks at the rabbits in his maw "I see you got a catch." she said in a somewhat happy tone.

Jay upon seeing Moonlight whimpers happy she hadn't deserted him after all he drops the two rabbits from his maw shivering lightly as he presented them to her and his ears dropped back on his skull. His head dipping low as she was more of a leader then he was, as was custom to him in a pack he offered her the first pickings of the rabbits even if she ate both it wouldn't be his place to question it especially since he knew she needed the food more then he did seeing as she was the one keeping him safe and needed her strength. However he couldn't help the grumble in his tummy that demanded he take at least one of them for himself. However he planted his hinds waiting for her to choose what she would do. Before he explained why he had ventured out so far, " My den collapsed in my eagerness to catch our dinner...I'm sorry." he said looking away from her eyes as his tail dipped a little in between his legs.

Moonlight couldn't help but laugh when he apoligized "It's fine, it's not like its a palace of paradise." she said happily "You don't really have to apoligize for things like that." she tried to make him a little less guilty. She nudged the rabbits to him, letting him have his catch "Not really hungry. If there are rabbits around there must be a better made den somewhere around here." she sniffed the air but the wind messed the scents up. She shook more snow off then started to dig a bigger den for both of them. After minutes of making it sighed and looked at the male wolf.

Jay having been pushed the rabbits back didn't need any more then that to say feast, he dove on the rabbits softly growling as he tore at the flesh using his incisors and fangs. Piercing the pelt to rip away the fur before consuming the meals, they were gone by the time she was finished building them a new den. Having heard her say there had to be a better one he decided that they should probably set out at morning or whenever the storm would stop to try and find this home for the next night if these storms kept up the way they were was only going to get worse. He smiles seeing that she had made it big enough for the both of them this time. He had a fear of being alone in this frozen tundra and he quickly ducked inside, his butt feeling numb again he was ready for sleep he poked his head out to lap up some snow before squirming back inside to wait for her to enter. His rump moving from side to side behind him hurt but he could not contain his joy that she hadn't left him after all.

Moonlight was happy he finished the meals without sparing one for her. She chuckled when she wached him dive into the den, which made her think 'cute.' He was like a little pup to her when he acted this way, and it made her feel more like a parent. She calmly went into the den and curled up beside him, her fur was covered in snow but it soon melted into water. She slowly fell asleep again to gather more strength for whatever is going to be ahead. Before she did fall asleep she asked the happy wolf "Why so happy?"

Jay curls his frame snuggling into Moonlights fur like a pup would its mother, his hind stilling before he responds to her question. " I'm glad you didn't leave me...thanks." he tells her, it was a thanks from the bottom of his heart. His tongue comes out feeling the drops of water against his nose and mouth from the melting snow on her pelt to lick his chops free of the cool water. He lays his head down hiding his face in her pelt like he used to with his real mother before softly falling asleep wondering what it would've been like to have her as a mother instead of his own and a few tears leave him in his sleep. He loved his mother very much and the question still remained, 'Why did she leave him after promising she wouldn't...'

Moonlight licked his cheek "I always keep my promise. I won't leave, even if my life did depend on it." she said to reassure him. She knew something was wrong with his past and she wanted to know what his history is. Her tail laid against him, she felt even more like a mother then last time. But guessed it was by instinct, or her past experiances. She sighed camly and fell asleep after she got her last look of the male wolf.

Jay wakes up to water dripping on the tip of his nose, he whines not wanting to get up as his golden orbs flutter open seeing that the sun was out as it shone on his muzzle just below his eyes. He raises his maw up turning to look at Moonlight happy to see her still beside him, he squirms forward to pop his head out of the opening to feel the warm sun beating down on his face. He pulls the rest of his body out and moves to a spot only a little ways from the den where he digs away the snow so he can lay on the ground without getting cold to absorb some of the suns heat into his pelt. He stretches out and starts to chew at some of the frozen grass blades yipping and rolling about like a pup in the spring glad the snow storm had stopped and the sun was out he supposed it was a good sign but wasn't sure as he had never been to these parts before.

Moonlight upon hearing the sounds of yipping and the rustling from outside the den. She woke up slowly only to see that Jay wasn't beside her but outside. She streched her legs and yawned before walking out into the warm and bright sun. "Loving the warmth I see." she says in a motherly tone while walking over to him "How're you feeling?" she gestured to his wounded tail. Shaking off some water that was still dripping on her long, thick coat, she sat in a spot where there was no snow but the ray of sunlight. "The warmth of the sun is kinda rare around here. Seriously." she said while her eyes where closed as she sat there in the light.

Jay smiles kicking his pads in the air as he rolled around playfully, hearing Moonlight he turns over to his side lifting his head up to talk to her. " Yeah." he chuckles softly feeling a little embarrassed at being caught playing in the sunlight. " It hurts real bad but I think it's healing." he says turning to look at his rump that had a pink ring around where the wound was, " It's real itchy too." he tells her watching her lay down in the sun only to tell him that days like these were rare. He had already figured that one out and it was partly why he was enjoying himself so much in the rays that were coming down on his derma. He smiles as he rolls onto his back again and does his happy wolf dance.

[color=red]Moonlight looks at him when he spoke about his wound " ichy huh? Good luck with that." she chuckled and stood up, getting balence on her paws before walking to the playful wolf. She nugded his head "Wanna keep playing in the sun or get away from here." she laughed a little, she wanted to play in the sun aswell but she was very focused on getting out of there. She pawed his belly softly but playfully.

Jay laughs trying to get out of reach from the paw that was at his ticklish spot, he squirms before finally flipping over and standing to face her. " Yeah, lets get outta here. I hate it here." he grumps furrowing his brows together and snorting out of his nose solidly as he nodded his head firmly once as though it had been his idea in the first place. But then looking around he realizes he has no idea which direction was which and he looked to her for help, "Um...how about you lead the way." he says sitting down on his hinds to wait to see where she would head, he still wanted to find his parents and the pack that had left him but now having no clue where their trial was all hope was lost for that, however he did not give up hope as he was a stubborn bullheaded pup like wolf that kept believing that what the pack had done was for the better of everyone and that once they saw him alive they would readily accept him back.

Moonlight shakes her head when he told her to lead. She felt like a leader of a pack already which made her long to be an alpha for real. She sniffed the air to see if there were any herds around then headed straight forward as she smelled something. She looked around still following the scent she picked up, to her it smelled like deer. Hoping that they wouldn't enter a wolf pack's territory, she looked toawrds Jay to see what he's doing.

Jay gallops along right behind her however distracted by the sight of icicles that were hanging from the tree branches. He wondered to himself what kind of storm could do such a thing as to leave ice upon trees, he knew it wasn't one he wanted to be caught in and he imagined himself with icicles hanging from his nose and chin. He shivered at the thought of if almost tripping in the snow head first he regains his thoughts to look forward again and sees her staring back towards him. He gives her a dopey grin, allowing his tongue to loll out of his mouth as he began to pant trying to keep up this constant pace through the snow was hard for him but he didn't want to be left behind so he pushed forward ignoring the burning sensation in his sides and legs. He was quite clueless that she was even hunting at all just happy to be following along without a care in the world.

[color=red]Moonlight shook her head and looked forward when she saw his grin, then slowed her pace so he'll catch up to beside her. "You okay?" she asked when he did catch up. Looking at the trees with icecles made her shiver and wondered what kind of storm that was. She shook the thought off "It's gone and we don't have to worry about it." she whispered to herself and hoped her words were true. She laps up some snow to get some kind of water in her system, even if she wasn't thristy. "What is your strength?" she asked the wolf, not trying to be nosey but just wanting to know.

Jay catches up rather quickly as he wasn't too far behind. He listens to her ask if he was okay and he nods a simple yes to her unable to speak much with how hard he was panting now. When she asks him how his strength was he looks at her curious as to the reason for such a question, he was still rather weak but strong enough to run if that's why she asked. It probably was he thought to himself since he had fallen behind her a ways she had probably grown concerned, he realized more and more the faes personality was more like that of a mother so his assumption was that she was just merely making sure he didn't need to pause and rest. " I'm not my strongest, but I can run..." he pauses almost having called her mom he looks forward shutting his yap to just continue running not wanting to think much after his near slip up.

Moonlight twiched her ears as he spoke " Running huh." she slows a little more to catch her breath. She yips when something penetrated her left hind paw. She stops and sits down to examine it. She gets up and starts walking, ignoring it for now.

Jay heard her yip and his face turns to worry, he quickly without thinking jumps forward to check and see what was going on. He blinks seeing her get up and move again, he figures she is fine and continues forward happy that their pace had slowed as he was finally able to start catching his breath. " Yeah. Why?" he asks in regards to her response of 'running eh?' figuring that she wouldn't talk about whatever had made her cry out like that as she was a strong wolf and not one who ever talked about being injured. He had bitten back yelling out mom when he had seen her go down to her hinds and wondered curiously if he would make the slip up if something bad did happen to her. Then he wondered if he should wait that long to let her know that he looked to her as a mother but decided against it, he didn't think she'd want to feel so old as she seemed to be rather close to the same age he was but being uncertain of that and knowing that girls didn't like to be called old he kept his maw shut as he waited to hear her answer his audits forward to catch such a thing.

Moonlight grins "I was just wondering." she spoke quietly before yawning. She shook some snow off her fur then her wounded paw since it felt like a strong sting. Dragging her paw a little for it to get numb, the wolf ran into the other playfully and chuckled. She looked at him to see his reaction, walking regularly again.

Jay having seen her drag her paw he had been about to whimper softly when she trotted forward and bumped into him playfully. He smiles but winces as his butt starts to move from side to side not used to the fact that he didn't have a tail to wag anymore, but he ignores it as he starts to trot forward and bumps into her giving out a giggle before galloping forward through the snow as he raises his maw and yips to the sky pronouncing their playful romp. Luckily the top of the snow was frozen in a lot of deeper areas still otherwise he'd sink right into the drifts like he normally did but today he was on top of the world.

Moonlight growls playfully when he bumped into her. She yipped and barked chasing after him "Jay watch out." she laughed and ran to catch up beside him. The wolf bumped into him again and raced forward ahead of him "Catch me if you can!" she howled then trips down the hill rolling down in the snow. Once the hill grew flat at the bottom and stops in a pile of snow "Woah! I wanna to that again!" she laughed when she appeared out of the pile.

Jay laughs playfully bounding after her as he chased her trying to keep up but she was a much leaner wolf giving her the upper hand. When he saw her disappear over a mound of snow he raced forward hearing a commotion on the other side, upon seeing her tumbling down the hill he screams out "MOM!!" and with no thought as to the safety of his butt he plants it and slowly inches down on his fores however he soon begins to slide due to the ice and as the scab starts to rip away from the wound at his behind he yelps raising it up now trying to back peddle as he continued only to follow her into the pile of snow. He pops his own head up out of the large snow drift and shakes it free of the frozen water that had collected itself on top of his crown. Hearing her exclaim she wanted to do that again a smile escapes him and having forgotten he had reopened the wound somewhat he starts to wag his butt until he felt the shooting white hot pain race through his spine. Whimpering he quickly pulls himself out of the snow to turn and examine it, licking at it softly as it was starting to ooze a bit of clear liquid, the scab merely having split slightly open he had gotten extremely lucky.
