It had been almost two years to this day since the incident at the laboratory, Kihyah had caught the scent of the three humans that had saved them only on a few occasions. He had taken up a ritual of moving their den every season, still staying within the protected confines of Yellowstone Park, but to make sure that such an event never happened to their family again. Today they were headed back to the first den they had ever inhabited here, even though now he could never see the beautiful blue waters again he still remembered what they did look like. A smile spread across the mature brutes maw as he felt the field and smelled the old scent of the cavern that was just straight ahead. Sadly though they weren't there to remember the good 'ol times, instead it was getting close to time to see their young ones off for they were grown enough now to start their own pack or at least become part of a different one as all of them do. He sighs sadly at the thought as he climbs the steep embankment up to the place they once had called home.

The brute makes it over the embankment only for a loud BLAST to ring out, as if in slow motion his body falls back as he hears the distinct sound of something wooden clicking on metal then another blast. His chest hurt and it was hard to breathe, it felt like his insides were on fire and like his chest was missing, he did the only thing he could and cried out for his family to run. His cries were half muffled by the blood that he could taste pooling out from his mouth, his eyes closed knowing his time was up he prayed for his lover and for their brood to make it out of there safely. With that the grey male that had lived to serve only his mate and offspring took his last breath and the life faded from him.
