Moonlight caches a glimpse of the other wolf again and she barks sharply to make the elk go away and it did. She knew that it'll watch her from the way it walked away "Can't even handle a lone wolf much less a pack." she says aloud then the elk turned and charged again not caring about the freezing cold waters. She ran towards the den, ' Why do I say things like that?' she thought then jumps into the den quickly when she approached the two bushes. She hears the elk stop and stomp on the ground "Now this thing wouldn't be here if I had a clan now would it." she complained quietly and walks down the paths, passing her favorite spot with was actually a slide escape route for whoever was there last. She guessed they went away or has been killed. There were about ten to fifteen rooms in the den which were ten inches apart and densly pact so it wouldn't fall. " I'm guessing he left"

Jay kept moving but it was slow goings in areas the drifts were almost six feet high, he reached a wall of solid ice and looks up at it blinking heavily there was no way he was going any further. He sighs sitting down when something caught his ears attention the sound of splashing in the river, he turns and runs back for where he had been before. He was quicker then lightning or so his mother had told him all while he was growing up and he just flew across the ground like his pads weren't even touching the ground there was no thinking involved as his body instinctively turned widely to cross over to the den having seen the elk tracks and smelled it was currently at the den. He lowers his crown as he gets closer to the elk aligning his head with his spinal column and rammed the rabid beast. It stops his movement and cause's his vision to go a little blurry at the edges, causing him to shake his dial to rid himself of the feeling to regain his sight only to look back up to see the elk bull quickly rising and making to charge him. His lips curl back to reveal his sharp ivories, saliva starts to drip down the needle point fangs. As a snarl ripped through his throat spittle flung a little as his hairs on his back of his neck and spine stood at end. His tail sticking straight out almost like an english setter pointing out a hidden pheasant, but this was no small game. The elk charging for him did not back down and instead lowered his head, showing off his pointy antlers which were rather intimidating at the moment but he refused to back down. Headstrong he sets his shoulders and as the antlers came for him he grabs them like a stick again, they ripped up into his mouth and he growls low as they skidded, him back wards curling slightly underneath the mass of the bull deer who was currently sliding on his front knees from the collision that had not happened as apparently the elk had expected. The deer jerking his head around trying to rid the large wolf from his rack but was not very successful until finally they stopped moving and he pulled upwards, that let Jay know to let go and run like hell.

Moonlight looks up when she hears large bumps and growling. She turns, runs outside to see what's going on. She gets close to the ground when she sees the elk and the wolf thrashing around, when she got the chance she charges at its hind leg and bites into its vein skillfully paralyzing the leg. She jumps onto its back, her nails digging into the bull deer's back as she bites into it. "Leave, him alone!" she growled and moves up to its neck sinking her sharp teeth into it, not really caring if she gets the disease it has. Her tail started to act as her balence when she bit into it's neck, her long teeth tearing into it. She wanted to say something but was really focused on the large deer that was now thrashing around. When she feels her teeth touch slightly she pulled back, tearing off what she had gathered and hopes that it did the trick. She jumps off dropping what she had onto the snowy ground and looks up at the wolf, wondering why he came back.

Jay turns around to watch as she takes after the deer elk, he doesn't answer her question instead he runs behind her and pushes her towards the river. " Clean out your maw quick and don't swallow any of the blood." he tells her concerned that she may contract the disease, " I came back because I had ran into a dead end and while I was determining if I could get around it or not I heard a splash...I knew the elk had come across the river for you...wait a second," he moves a little trying to act like some what of a tough guy, " Don't think this means I like you, I just didn't want you to get hurt was all." he tells her gruffly before turning nudging her a few times to encourage her more to rinse the mouth out.

Moonlight looks at him "I was never thinking about the 'likeing' part. Wait a minute, why would you think that I thought that?" she growls slightly when he nudged her to the water. She walks over the the stream and leaned down to lap up some water. She spits out the water and reapeated the steps a few times before walking back over to the wolf "You do like me don't you? Mentioning it when I wasn't thinking it, just tells all." she explained and sits down infront of him. She shakes to get some fallen snow off her fur then scratches her left ear with her hind paw feeling some thing crawling along it. Her tail wags when she finished scratching "Anyway, what and where is this dead end of yours?" she asked him then stretches. " So how come you're not in a clan again?" she whined a little when she feels her right leg had a cramp. She sats down again resting her leg.

Jay shakes his dial firmly before starting off towards the place where he had come across the wall of ice. His demeanor that of a stubborn pup unwilling to admit that he actually cared about the other wolf's well being, he didn't want her to grow attached to him. He was merely passing through was all, he kept telling himself. "I choose not to be part of a pack." the same story he had told her before came out, who really wanted to admit that he was left behind for dead. He certainly didn't look of course like he would've died, but it was a few months after they had left him out here now and he had been so stubborn then as well that it was in his mind why he had survived. The story wasn't exactly the best one to tell either, then he realizes she's not behind him and turns around looking for her. There she sat looking like she may be in pain, he trots over to her tilting his head slightly to the right to question her on it. " What's wrong?" he asks with that same deep rich fatherly tone, it was odd to hear it out of him since a lot of other times he sounded so much like a pup it was ridiculous.

Moonlight looks up at him, her blue eyes showing only a little pain and shakes her head trying not to laugh from hearing his deep, fatherly voice "Nothing's wrong, I'm fine." she gets up and shakes her right leg trying to get rid of the cramp " Chose not to be in one. Still staying with that answer." she says softly and follows him with a small limp. She looks up at the bright blue sky to tell what time it was, and judging by the yellow-ish sun's postition it was lunch. " You still haven't answered my other questions." she finally says after walking in silent to at least bring up a conversation. She looks around with her ears high up, fighting does take a lot from her since she didn't do much. She pauses to scrach her left ear again "Somthing it seriously biting me." she mummbled to herself then continued to follow the wolf. She listened to her surroundings to make sure no enemies were around since she was in a valnurable state.

Jay sticks his tongue out at her when she stood and started to limp off then went to tell him he was the liar, then going on to say more he listens to her go on about those questions, which he wasn't to sure about the ones she was referring too but then recalled and rolled his golden eyes. " Too bad. I don't tell liars nothin'." he says in a cocky put playful tone as he made his way again towards the massive wall of ice he had encountered. Something like that of a glacier loomed before him, it appeared that it had flooded before the massive freeze had fallen over these lands that kept them so bitterly chilled to the bone. " Here it is...answer one." he chuckles as he sits to look up at the looming mass of ice. " How do you think this got here?" he asks.

Moonlight growls playfully when he answered " Okay tough boy. Don't tell me anything. After all you don't even like me." she looks back at him then foward and closses her eyes with a small huff still playing around. Once they approached the ice that towered over them she opens her eyes wich her wide "What the?" her blue eyes gazed across the ice. "I'm guessing this was a water fall before it bacame well under 0 degrees." she says and walks closer the ice and taps it with her nail " Yep, it's frozen alright." she stands on her hind legs and scratches the ice just incase. She falls back onto all fours and looks around to see if there is any way to climb ths "Look for a place to climb this." she says while walking to the left of the ice.

Jay moves off to the right to start his searching again, he walked around this thing whatever it was and tried to figure out where he might climb or get through it. Walking for miles as he examined each and every inch of it for something, some indication that he wasn't trapped here for the duration of whatever was going on. A bit freaked out by a giant wall of water he slams into something not having looking where he was going as he was lost in thought as he looked around to get his orientation about him he notices a large crack in the ice. He creeps forward and sniffs heavily making sure there was nothing in it ready to come out and make him it's meal. When he realized there wasn't he behind him and decided it was best if he investigated the thing himself as it didn't look very sturdy, seeming that it could shift at any moment and crush him yeah he certainly thought it best. He moves into the crack which didn't give him much of any space on any side of him but he was able to press on through, the formations the ice had made were at least beautiful enough to draw his attention to them several times.

Moonlight sniffs around aswell as looking. She finds some boulders that made steps to who knows where. She nuges it to make sure it was strong enough before climbing it, she looked down to where the wolf was heading and didn't see him which made her kinda worry, but ignores it a kept climbing. Once she got to the end of the boulders, which stopped halfway of the frozen water she saw that a large chunk of it was missing and she thought it led to the top. "Must've took years to do this." she says since the large chunk where climbable stairs that seemed like ones for humans. "Were humans here before or what?" she had lots of question on her mind but pushed them back and began to check around to make sure it was stable enough for her weight. She carefully started to walk onto the ice, her tail was low and flowing against the breeze and her ears were low aswell. She wanted to howl but didn't know what'll happen from the sound vibration. As she continued walking up the steps she sees that she was close to the top, and once she made it she looked around and sees that there's a second ground. She quickly runs down to the stairs and down the boulders then to where she saw Jay disappear.

Jay continues forward until he felt the whole thing shake a little, he blinks frozen in his spot until finally it stops. It was such a tight spot there was no turning around or even turning his head to look back, instead he had to push on a pray that there was an exit out of this otherwise he feared the worst. " Well at least it's better then swimming." he teased himself and laughed lightly, the ice shook again and this time he squeezed his eyes shut as he heard chunks of ice falling behind him. He looks forward and starts running, there was no thinking about it he just moved however gaining speed in there was difficult and there were parts where the ice was so sharp it sliced into his fur but there was no stopping now all he could hear was the collapse of the ice cave. He ducks quickly as a chunk of ice almost ends it for him the path was getting wider and now he was in a dead bolt for a dark looming hole that normally wouldn't have looked so inviting but there was a collapse happening around him so it really was like the gates of heaven to him. He makes it through the hole but not until a thick heavy block smashes his tail, he yips and cries from the excruciating pain that had shot up through his spine. He turns around and gnaws it off his instinct taking over as it told him there was no way of getting it out or healing, loud cries and whimpers echoed in his ears as his teeth ripped through his own flesh and bone. Finally freeing himself he just flops down immediately and starts to clean the area, slobbering heavily into the wound then lapping it up as he knew his saliva had minor healing properties to it but he knew if he were to have any hope he'd have to get the bleeding to stop. He turns his head after slowing the bleeding and calming himself wasn't now gushing blood out the end, he was a bit faint and looks around in hopes of finding something however all that greeted his eyes was a dark cave with no exit or signs of anything to sustain himself. He flops down and goes back to licking at the wound unsure now what to do as he had gotten himself into more trouble then he had ever been in before.

Moonlight walks into the small hole it was a little small to her but didn't affect her much. Her ears perked when she heard an echo then the ice shaking. By instinct, she bolted forward not really caring if the ice was falling or not, once she heard yips and cries from, whom she knew, Jay. Seeing peices of hair and blood on some of the ice when she passed by made her hopes fall. She shakes her head before stopping infront of a giant block of ice that blocked her path to where ever this place was going. She sctraches the ice block to try and get across it "Why did I come in here?" she whispered to herself and quickly yips and jumpped when she heard a large ice shard behind her fall. She looks around to see if there was actualy a way out but didn't find anything which made this day even worse for her. Soon she started to chew through the ice hoping it would make the proccess to go faster. She backed up a little when she felt a small touch from the other side.

Jay was starting to loose consciousness when suddenly he heard something on the other side of the ice block which had just taken his tail from him. He gets up with much pain and a struggle, his blood loss making him weak and his body almost unresponsive but hearing it was Moonlight on the other side he couldn't just let her die in the avalanche of ice. As cold as he was it wasn't sure to work but he turns and lifts his leg, the hot stream of urine melting a crater into the chunk before he ran out but there was still no sign of Moonlight or the other side. He could feel the rumblings of the ice, it shook the ground beneath him as gross as it was he shoved his nose in and started to lick not having enough energy to claw at the solid structure before him instead he licked like crazy through the nasty taste of ammonia. It wasn't long until he felt something warm touch the tip of his nose and he pulls back looking to find that he had made it all the way through, he wanted to whine and whimper to her of his tail but now was not the time he knew. However he could do no more in aiding her, all the energy he had was spent and now the sleepy feeling was returning along with the black creeping into his vision indicating that he was going to loose consciousness after all. Luckily for him the cold was just what his blood needed to form a good solid clot and stop the flow of blood out of his wound, however unluckily enough he wasn't sure how to replenish what he had already lost.

Moonlight quickly bursts through the small hole and looks at the wounded wolf "Jay!" She walked closer to him and whines when she smelled his blood. She nugdes him slightly then looks around only to see darkness "I'll be right back." she continued forward sniffing around to find an exit or at least an animal that lives here. She barks to stirr up anything but hopes it didn't make anything worse "Hello!" she called out. After minutes of looking around she finds a light "Heh, hope it's something good." she ran to the light and soon sees that it was a way out. The back of this icey death trap. Finally." she marked the ground by urinating on it and ran back to where the wounded wolf is. She sees that he's still standing and crawls under him and stands up, carrying him on her back. "No offense but you're heavy." she complained and heads to her scent she made, her legs trying to withstand the extra weight. Soon they made it out and she sets him down in the snow and covers up where his tail used to be with snow and then lays beside him to keep him warm.

Jay was appreciative of the help in walking for he wouldn't have been able to do it on his own, he was already slipping in and out of what felt like sleep to the wolf. He made out her saying something about him being heavy but was too weak to respond or say anything and he completely lost consciousness before he even got to see that they had made it out safely. When she dumped his body into the snow the cold brought him back, he shook his head softly trying to rid it of that overwhelming sleepy feeling that was starting to consume him again. He feels incredibly thirsty all of a sudden and starts to eat the snow it makes him feel even colder then he felt at the moment but he couldn't stop, it was almost as if he had been in a desert for days without so much as a drop of water. Gobbling up the snow a bit more before stopping due to the shivering his body was doing, it was rattling his jaw so hard that he had bit his tongue a few times while trying to consume more snow. He whines softly laying his head down only to look up at Moonlight with his golden orbs, sadness held in them as he feared that this was it for him. His eyes closed as he started to feel sleepy again wanting just to disappear into the darkness for the pain in his rump was so excruciating he could barely find the will to even want to live.

Moonlight whined when he looked up at her, seeing the sadness in his eyes just made her furious "I can't belive this. You've got yourself almost smashed by that ice, I help you out by getting you out of that death trap and you're starting to slip away from me like this." she growled and stood up sniffing the air for a cave or a den. She shook her head and began digging into the ground. The silver lining on her nails made it easy for her to dig as it acted as an extra. After minutes of digging, she patted down the small den's dirt walls to keep it from collapsing. She drug him into the small den and stayed at the entrance since the den only held one wolf. She knew how it felt losing someone she cared for when she was little, but she didn't want to lose another she cared about.

Jay was grateful for the den but wasn't particularly happy that she was sacrificing shelter for him, however still to weak to do much of anything he just allowed the heavy sleep to take him. His breathing slowed relaxing as the snow that had been on his rump before entering the small den had numbed the pain off in his butt. He yawns in his sleep his body shivering a little every now and then as he slowly began to warm in the insulated hole that was a make shift den for the moment. A nightmare hit him of the ice collapsing on him, this time trapping him underneath the heavy weight. He whimpers in his sleep as it scared him, a crushing weight forcing him not to breath turned quickly into him drowning. He begins to thrash almost as if trying to swim but the darkness was swallowing him up, the nightmares being brought on by his scare of death.

Moonlight looks at the struggling wolf in the poorly den, guessing that he's having a nightmare. She leaned into the den and licked his cheek reassuring that he's not in any danger for now. She leaned out and stayed close to the entrance trying to keep warmth in it. She shook some fallen snow off her then feels her stomach growling. Ignoring it, she looked around for any predaters that lurked around them making sure they wouldn't take advantage. She also made sure that she didn't seem like she's takeing care of an injured wolf so it wouldn't attract anything. ' Hope he's going to make it.' she thought then lays her head down into the snow, her ears staying perked.

Jay calms in his sleep, the nightmare leaving him as she licked his cheek as it was something his mother had always done when he was a pup and he'd have such terrible night terrors that he'd keep up the rest of the pack. She was one of the reasons he was still searching for the pack that had left him behind, his family was in it and he missed them terribly. He held no hard feelings towards them leaving him for dead and as he rest all he could dream of was being reunited with them. It was the one thing that gave him comfort in his troubled sleep and with as tired as the event had made him it would be quite a few hours before he would wake from his slumber.

Moonlight sighs calmly when she sees that the wolf had calmed. She starts to fall asleep wondering what he was dreaming about. Soon enough she had nightmares of her own, fearing of being alone for the rest of her life or dying. She didn't like being alone but her social skills was poor since all she did was fight, eat and sleep. Having some friends or just one was all she wanted, she also wanted to swim. Her legs were strong enough for her to stay afloat but she didn't know how to, actually. She whined and growled in her sleep when she dreamnt of fighting an alpha for a take over of a clan, being beat or badly wounded was not one of her intentions. But it happened anyway, really deep scars on her legs and back, an ear torn, and can't see through her left eye. She quickly woke up from hearing rustling in some bushes near by, it's scent was hard to figure out since she was a little groggy.

Jay woke only a few minutes before she was stirred by the sound, he was woken by the pain in his rump that had returned. He whimpers softly turning to lick at the wound but careful not to reopen it as it now had a nice scab on it which he was certain was the only thing between his tongue and another flood of blood coming out. His audits twitch lightly when he heard the sound outside, he doesn't move thinking it's just Moonlight possibly coming back with some food at least he hoped so as his stomach gurbled telling him he was starving. He squirms forward when he didn't smell any fresh kills to see what she was up to, peeking out of the opening his golden orb twitching back and forth as he scanned the frozen terrain for her unable to find her as she was out of the line of his vision.

Moonlight traveled off before he awoke to find out what it was that disturbed her. She sniffed around the bush she heard was rustling "Who's there?" she growled and sees it's a big fluffly rabbit "Good, it's food." she quickly attacked it and broke its neck before picking it up and walking back to the den "Guess what I found." she voice was muffled by the rabbit's fur in her mouth "It's big enough for you to eat." she dropped it infront of him and nudged it a little "Go ahead and eat." she sat a couple of inches away from him while looking around. She bites onto her tail hard enough to get an ich but soft enough not to bite through it. She glanced at Jay and hoped he was eating, she didn't want him to worry about her since it would only make her angry.

Jay was startled when she seemed to appear out of no where, but when he sees the rabbit he had to resist the urge to wag his tail not wanting it to hurt anymore then it already did. He pushes himself out of the opening wanting his hindquarters to sit in the cold numbing snow as he ate, he plops his haunches down and sighs out of relief as it instantly starts to help with the pain. Placing the hare underneath his left paw pad before leaning down and starting to rip off the clumps of fur from the carcass spitting it out until it was bare of it's hair. He grabs it's head and rips it in half, giving her the rear end of the rabbit scooting it closer to her with his nose before he started to eat his half. Nothing was left of it by the time he was done not even a single bone having been hungry beyond belief. Now feeling rested and having more energy with some food in his belly he stands up now that his rump was feeling much better. But he was discouraged moving back into the den to get more sleep scooping up some more snow in his mouth to drink as he was parched from the dry heat of the make shift home to sleep in. " You should leave me. I'll only attract predators and slow us down, if you stay out here with me you'll die from the cold." he informs her with a whimper.

Moonlight eats the other half he gave to her, not really wanting to force him to do anything. She growled when he spoke of leaving him "I'm not going to leave you. I'm strong enough to fight off any predators, and I'm use to the cold like this. I'm usualy in the coldness with or without, even though it gets cold my fur is thick enough. And by us you mean you, I'm not looking or hunting for anything." she quickly finishes her end of the rabbit and gets up "Now get more rest and when you're ready to go anywhere tell me." she said then walks a few feet away from the den to think. "Worry me to much sometimes. Even if you didn't like me, I still have to help." she spoke to herself and hoped he wasn't listening. She sighed laid down, keeping her head and ears up while her tail was swaying slowly "Well, maybe I should give him some space. Heh, I am acting just like a mother. That's funny." she shook her head and yawned, getting more tired then usual.
