Rolling in the Sand (desianey)

Talon laid his head on his paws, a sigh blowing through his nostrils. "We need sleep," he mumbled.

Talon tensed when she first snuggled into him, but allowed himself to relax. He rested his head on top of hers, falling asleep as well.

Talon blinked his eyes open at the bright sun Shinng and making the back of his eyelids a dim orange. He stretched, groaning, and glanced around for Snowfire. He couldn't see her, but he could hear a rustling in the distance, so he predicted that she was just hunting. He tapped his tail against the warm ground, bathing in the sunlight and waiting until she got back.

Talon smiled, tearing a piece of meat off the rabbit. He purred, "delicious," he complimented before looking at her. "so... What's our plan today?"

Talon thought for a moment. "Well... Are we sticking together? Or are you headed off on your own?" he asked. He needed to know so he didn't get his hopes up.

Talon smiled back, his tail wagging in happiness. She wanted to stick around! Without thinking, he lightly nuzzled her cheek.

Talon's ears heated as she nuzzled him back. But he was just glad she didn't move away from him. "I like you Fire," he mumbled softly.

"I'm glad your staying around. I-I was hoping you would," Talon whispered, looking at her warmly.

Talon relax noticeably, nuzzling her in return quickly.

Talon thought. "We need to find shelter, maybe hunt for more food, find fresh water," he told her confidently.

"Find drinkable water," he told her, wagging his tail. "Howl or bark when you find some, Ill be hunting, but I'll findnyou when you call. Good?" he checked.

As she looked around, Talon hunted down some rabbits and deer. He wanted them to be good in case any situation hit them.
