A Journey Home

A brow had quirked itself upward in a steep peak as he plopped his hinds down on the slate beneath, watching as she struggled with memories. It was a look he knew well but knew it wasn't something to pry into as those things tended to be painful to bring up and well guarded towards a stranger like himself. He sighs softly letting the soft growl pass as nothing of harm towards himself, her apology not necessary but well taken as a sign of knowing her place. He nods his crown softly once before continuing further with their conversation, "It is alright...Fae, a nice name. Apparently rather popular as well." he smiles warmly giving out a soft laugh before letting it die to ask a question he asked every wolf who traveled upon their lands, "What's your purpose here?" he asks, his brain already toiling away in curiosity as to why she would come here...he thought to himself that perhaps she was trying to run away from the past that was obviously haunting her still. His right audit twitches lightly as it picks up a few light squeals from the pups, his hinds squirm slightly before settling again once the babes fell silent.

Jeaunu woke up from his nap at the mouth of the cave when he heard crying and tinny sqweals from the cave, which he assumed were the pups. But as the alphaness went into the cave they then fell silent, then Kihyah came out to speak with a strange wolf who stood there. Jeaunu stood up as Kihyah came out, just in case something happened. The two wolves began talking and Jeaunu came over and sat near his fearless leader as a sign of loyalty and suport.

Kihyah, while waiting for the femmora to respond felt Juneau join his side. It was reassuring to know that the male had his back should anything happen, even though he perceived no danger at the moment out here he had learned that never meant it wouldn't rear it's ugly head should he give it the opportunity. To his surprise a little white flake floated down onto his nose, he blinked curious as to where it had come from before a steady snowfall began. He shook his dial to rid it of the accumulated ice crystals on top of his crown, a soft smile crossed his maw as his tassel began wag softly on the ground behind him. Apparently winter had come, having had their pups just in the nick of time it seemed and by spring they would be ready to venture from the den to learn how to hunt mice.

Jeaunu also noticed the white powder falling from the sky and was wondering what it was, some landed on his nose and it caused him to sneeze and sniffle. He also noticed that it got a lot colder but his thick black pelt made the weather more tolertable for him. He knew that this cold weather meant some changes for the pack and how they operated, but he was ready for whatever Kihyah needed and was ready to help out the pack as a whole. But he still looked to his leader for guidence, "What does this white stuff from the sky mean?"

Kihyah turns his nape to look back at the black brute who had addressed him with a question that needed answering, his audit had moved as he had to keep itself transfixed on the fem. A deep voice with concern webbed into every word that sprang forth from his muzzle issued a response, "It's the change of the seasons Juneau...the cold is coming. It's a much more dangerous time too, I'll be relaying on you and Faye more then ever before with keeping this family safe. Think you're up for the challenge?" He asks him while quirking his left brow in wait for his answer.

Jeaunu looks up at the sky and watches as the snow falls, and he shakes himself when ice starts to form on his pelt. He looks up at his leader as he answers and then looks up at the sky again, wondering and thinking. "I think I am up for it Kihyah, you know I would do anything for this family. Esspecially those little ones in the den" He nods toward the den opening to show that he meant Kihyah's pups.

Kihyah grins, proud of his hunter and nods lightly in respect towards him. He had proven his worth and himself more over since he had been joined into the pack as one of them. "I'm glad to hear it. Tonight I'll need you to go hunting for some elk, they'll be leaving the territory soon and a few cows will come in handy to get us through the first week or two...depending on how much Mystery will need to keep up her milk for the babes." He explains to the male, he would go hunting with them to help but his job would be to guard his newborn pups and their mother to keep them from any harm that may present itself while the two hunters were gone. "I'll have you take them immediately to the meat cache where I had you store the other right away, we can't attract any kind of unwanted attention from predators now that the cold is coming." He explains, it meant a lot of work for them all in the next couple of weeks to make sure everything would go smoothly not only for the pups but for the entire pack as well.

Goldey enter the territory she howls announceing her arrival. She looks around sniffinf around she then sat down sniffing the air wondering if any other wolf is here.then she noticed it. A pack of wolves are here she then stands looking around she could not find were the pack was so she adventured off to the water sat down and waited.

Kihyahs audits twitch on top of his skull, he turns to look off in the distance as though he could see who was out there calling out. His legs moved to widen his stance as his ears dropped back against his crown, pulling his head back as his maw retracted to develop this deep howl that rose an octave before dropping back down and fading like a mist brought in on a breeze. He pants a little before pulling his lips taught and erecting his ears to hear if there was a response to his greeting, his tassel softly moving back and forth between his hocks as he listened.

Mystery, having dozed off beside her little ones, woke hearing the howls that were now bouncing quietly off the cave walls. It had been just enough to wake the femme and with a tired sigh the mistress glaced over at her pups before she would address the howls that had intruded from outside. The inky fae watched silently as her newborns slept, their chests gently shifting with every tiny breath as the three pressed close to each other. Crown turning to the entrance of the den Mystery gave out a low yip to her mate, just asking what was happening and who the new comer was.

Kihyah shifts, turning his apex around to his right so he could look back at the entrance of the cavern that held his mate and pups inside. Having heard her question he softly yips back several times conveying that the wolf sounded like a fae off in the distance and that she had enough respect to warn them of herself, but other then that he knew nothing more for now. He wanted desperately to go to her and talk with her more one on one but with a new wolf in the land he was sure she would make her way to them quickly enough, that's what all of the wolves had done so far when they had realized these lands were owned by them. It was rather interesting to the male as he never before had seen so many wolves visit a pack before, but with the winter brewing he was sure that it would die back down due to there being less food in this area. He looks up again at the sky that was dropping snow on them at this very instant then realized he was supposed to be listening for a wolf and his ears went forward once more before he sat on his haunches waiting for a response.

Goldey replies to the howl. when she heard it she stood up wagging her tassle and wondering were it came from so she just sat on her rumps again waiting intell she was told were she was.

Kihyah laughs a little to himself, the fae must be young yet he thought to himself not that it was a bad thing. He was just not used to having to give his location away, but perhaps that wasn't it...maybe her hearing wasn't the best that could indicate she was an older wolf yet the voice just indicated she was younger then that. He pulls his head back once more to howl out to follow the river up stream and it would lead her to them. He on the other hand had picked out approximately where she was on his land based on the howls direction and giving into account the wind as well. Then he waited looking towards the river as he awaited their guest to make her appearance, of course his eyes could not see as well but his nose twitched lightly at the end of his snout and his ears were already moving like little radar dishes. He would 'see' her if not with his eyes but with those other sensory devices.

Goldey hears the howl and follows it up a rocky mountain she got up and sat down at the egde

Kihyah waits patiently, the fae far off in the distance it would take her some time to travel to them. He moves into the den to peek in on his mate and pups, yipping softly before leaning down to clean the ebony fur upon his lovers face. He then rubs his neck into hers murring softly so as not to wake the pups who were sleeping soundly at her side. His ears tilt back to hear if the femme had approached yet but hearing nothing but the ripple of the river down below he carries about grooming her. Licking at her ears and crown now as his tassel moved softly from side to side brushing gently against his hind quarters as it swayed.

Goldey still sat at the egde of the cliff were the pack was she yelped to let him know she was here and slightly flickered her ear awaiting his arrival.She slightly layed down and waited and waited

Mystery's jades fluttered open hearing her mates gently yip to her, she hadn't been sleeping she was just very relaxed with her pups sleeping beside her. Perking her audits back and licking her Kih's chin as a slight submissive gesture but was really just thanking him for coming in to see her. She hated being away from him, whether he was just outside the den or not. Closing her orbs as her large silver brute groomed her face she gave out her own gentle murrs to him, bring on of her fores up to wrap it around his neck. When he rubbed his neck along hers she reached up to nibble lovingly at one of his auds before he began grooming at her crown and audits. Picking her auds up so he could groom them easier she relaxed into him, giving out a content sigh as her tassle slowly swayed along the cave floor. After a minute or two she heard the new femme's yip and the Mistress let out a defeated whine, droping her fore from her mates neck since she knew he had to go.

Giving his mate one more affectionate lick to her face he rubs his muzzle against hers softly as he begins to pull away, he heard the whine that had escaped her and he too felt the same but his was released in a simple sigh. The duty of being Alpha male had kept him away from her so much recently it was exhausting, however he knew that to survive this winter they would need more wolves to join their small pack. So with high hopes he traipsed outside to meet the new fae, when he was out of the shadow the cave cast over him it took him little time to cross over to the femme. A few feet from her he bows his head in a sign of greeting towards the new comer. He parted his lips only to speak softly, a deep warm voice emanating from the brutes vocals as he spoke. "Hello there. My name is Kihyah. I am the Alpha of these lands and I welcome you to our humble abode. What per say brings you to us today?" his brows raise in the inquiry of the question. His audits perched forward now as he awaited her response...

Looks at Kihyah and flickers her ear "I am Goldey,I had been adventureing for years and then will come to a stop here I've been looking for a pack to join ever scince I became a loner..and I feel welcomed" she says in a soft tone she bows to greet him with respect,With all her dignity she will not fuss,Fight.....She will be as loyal as she can.

Kihyah nods as he surveyed the fae's physique, she looked lean and fairly well fed meaning she could hunt at least for herself. A muscle structure that indicated she didn't do much fighting at all, more running perhaps after prey. He paced a little in front of her as he thought about her response, she was a loner but looking for a pack telling him that she had left her family pack of her own free will only because it had been time to do such a thing. She must then have a fairly good sense of loyalty, even though it must have been hard to leave her family she still had enough sense to know when the time to make her own way was. The bow topped everything else off to tell him that she knew the inner workings of the pack and how to address wolves properly, especially the higher ranks of this pack. This all made it a fairly easy decision for when he responded to her, "It is nice to meet you Goldey. You are welcome to live within this pack, you'll be part of a trial basis where we find out if you will fit into our midst. You will be treated with respect and like family while you stay here...a warning though, the den is off limits at this point so get used to sleeping out here in the cold with the rest of the family. I am putting you in the rank of hunter for now. As for anything else...welcome to the pack. Help yourself to some food." He says sitting his haunches down in front of her.

Goldey nodded "Thanks,Its nice to meet you too" she says in a nice tone again "I will never ever go in the den! I do what alpha and alphaess says everytime becuase in my personality I am loyal." she added and sat their looking over the land she looks back at kihyah "You own very buietiful land."

"Thank you." he said walking to stand beside her but a bit just slightly in front as a show of his dominance. "I picked these lands because here it seems that humans, even though they are all around these parts are not allowed to touch us or any animal living in these parts...it's a safe haven from their evil." he explains as he watches the sun start dip under the horizon, it was getting late quickly and he needed to get some food for his mate. "Well then...shall I show you where our meat stores are?" he asks knowing that Jeaunu and Faye would guard the den with their lives.

Goldey perked her ears and looks at Kihyah "Yeah,Sure" she replies and many sorrows she has been threw she had now passsed it and she turn around and stands up.

Kihyah lets out a few barks towards the den opening, informing his lover that he was leaving but that it wouldn't be long until he returned. He turns and heads down the small path where grass was starting to grow less and less since it was the safest path up that some what treacherous slopping face. Looking back to make sure she was able to keep pace with him a few times he reaches the base quite easily and quickly, starting down the scent marked line that held his hunters scents more then his own. " Are you any good at swimming?" he quirks his ears backwards so he didn't have to loose sight on the path in front of him.

Goldey nods her head "I am very good at swimming" she says and awaits to follow kihyah
